Holcomb women are innovating and looking at
new ways to nudge others closer to Jesus. God is in the business of
changing lives.
And He often uses ordinary people to do His
work!
“Each one should use whatever
gift [s]he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace
in its various forms.” I Peter 4:10
Mission Statement of the Holcomb Evangelical
Free Church Women’s Ministries
The Purpose of this organization shall be
to glorify God in its service to the local church, the community, and to the
Church world-wide. The organization shall provide its opportunities,
experiences, and services, by the help of the Holy Spirit and with the Bible as
the inspired Word of God as our guide:
1. To encourage family participation
in the activities of the church.
2. To minister to each other and to
nurture spiritual and personal Christian growth through teaching and
fellowship.
3. To encourage women in the body of
Christ and in the community to love and serve with excellence.
4. To walk together in Christian love
and to promote personal involvement in local missionary service and all spheres
of the Evangelical Free Church of American (EFCA) outreach ministry.
5. To nurture women in their knowledge
of God, understanding of the Scriptures, and
relationship with Christ.
6. To provide opportunities for women
to reach out into the community to share the love of Christ.
All women of the church are
invited to participate in the activities and ministry of the Holcomb Women’s Groups – to do so
one needs to express your desire to someone on the executive board. If
you choose to participate your name will be placed on one of four large groups with a group chairmen
and vice chairman for each group. When your group is asked to serve at
special church functions, funerals, wedding/anniversary receptions, etc., your
group chairmen will contact you, asking you to bring something and/or work at
the function. Attendance at all meetings and special functions is an
encouragement to the ladies and the entire church body. If you would like
to have a Prayer Pal or be added to or deleted from the Prayer Chain for the
current year you may contact the Vice Chairman.
